Made to last

God, Yahweh is with us believe it or not. Scripture is where we find timeless truth and this scripture gives me peace in this time when the world is grappling with Covid 19. Covid 19 has put most of us in a state of confusion, not knowing whether the plans you had for the year will succeed. You may have planned a vacation to enjoy with your family, you may have enrolled for a qualification that you have always desired to acquire, you may have planned to take part in a Comrades marathon for the first time after rigorous preparation. Suddenly, Covid – 19 happened. Travel bans enforced, all non essential services closed down, no street jogging is allowed, now what of the plans that I had you may be asking.

You see life does not belong to us in a way. Genesis tells us that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void…This is the answer. God began and God finishes. You did not create yourself, God created you. He created you for a purpose and that purpose is settled you do not need to negotiate to get to it, you need to obey.

If we can settle our minds around the fact that, you are missing out on running the comrades marathon is a minor compared to the plan that God has for you. His plan for you his bigger and fulfilling. That is the plan that matters and that is the plan you should be concerned about. All other plans are subject to change. They can be changed by circumstances like weather, budget, death of a loved one and many other things but the Gods plans are sure.
Many are the plans in a mans heart but only Gods plan will prevail. What should we do then to continue enjoying life here and now, the answer is to understand that God has the best plan for you any other plan is not so important. He says “I know the plans I have towards you” That is the plan that you should be consumed by. You should live your life with that ultimate plan in mind. Do all you have to cooperate with God in achieving His plan for your life instead of living life based on short term gratification. When you are heavenly focused, you know that any day God is able to help you advance no matter what life throws at you.

In South Africa where I am authorities are doing everything possible not to loose the academic year because no one foresaw Covid 19 coming. Business people were taken by surprise, governments were taken by surprise, but God knew this time would come and built in you the ability to survive this storm.
There is a software in you built to withstand the virus, it’s already in you. Gos know what you can handle and what you can’t so if you feel overwhelmed, look unto Him who is the Author and Finisher of your faith.

We may not experience something as devastating as Covid 19 again in our lifetime but one thing is for sure, at the end God will be glorified. Businesses had to close, many suffered lack some even lost their lives but God (Yahweh) remains the All knowing and all powerful God.

The book of Jeremiah tells us “Before I formed you, I knew you” I knew you before Covid 19 and after it. I knew you. God is not convening a meeting to ensure humanity withstand the pandemic all that is already in us. He does not need to update and do anything He has not done already. As humans we need the right perspective. Now more that ever as believers, we need to declare and believe the Word of God that is able to deliver us. Imagine when the decree went out that all the Jews would be killed during the times of Queen Esther, can you imagine the fear and anxiety that people were feeling? today, Covid 19 is threatening lives and we all feel like it’s going to pounce on you unexpectedly but the answer is not to live in fear but to know that Yahweh is a Healer and is able to heal all disease including Covid.

Instead of confining yourself in the box of fear, break free and trust in Him who is able to destroy both the soul and body in hell. This is actually the right time to acknowledge that man are limited, skills, abilities and knowledge fail but Yahweh never fails. You were made to last and don’t ever think only certain people will make it except you. You are Gods big deal and He wants to see you succeed.
If you have never made Him your Lord and Saviour this is the time to do so in order to be sure that you spend eternity with Him.

All it takes is to say this prayer:
Father in the name of Jesus
I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord
He died for my sins, I accept Him as my Lord and Savior
Forgive my sins and write me in the Lambs book of life
In Jesus name
Amen.
